Teaching Experience: House of Knowledge International Kindergarten 2010-current
Full time English lead teacher at an international kindergarten in Beijing, China. I have developed lesson plans and taught children from the ages of 1-6. I work with children who mostly speak Chinese, German or English. I have attended teacher workshops on multilingualism, Reggio Amelia, Montessori teaching and project plan development.
Nesbitt Elementary School 2009
Student Teacher in first grade classroom in a Title One School for fifteen weeks.
Developed hands on lesson plans, created a 5-day Thematic Unit of lessons and hands on activities for geography. Assisted in parent-teacher conference. Attended first grade level meetings. Worked with ESOL students and special education students within the classroom. Attended RTI and SSI meetings.
Cary Reynolds Elementary School 2006 – 2007
Interned at Title One School in a first grade classroom for seven weeks, a third grade class for six weeks and a fourth grade class for thirteen weeks. Developed hands on lesson plans. Worked with ESOL students. Assisted with CRCT in the fourth grade classroom. Developed a Thematic Unit of hands on lessons on the Civil War.
Kimberly Elementary School -- 2006
Interned at an inner city school in Pre-K classroom for eight weeks and a Kindergarten class for seven weeks. Developed hands on lessons and worked with students with behavioral problems.
Other Experience:
I can speak Spanish and have a basic knowledge of Chinese.
2007- Worked one on one with a student, developing reading and literacy skills at an elementary school once a week for a semester.
2004 – Present United Cerebral Palsy
Worked in Personal Support, caring for individuals with severe disabilities and handicaps.
2001 -2002 participated in an Early Childhood program at OEC North on Georgia Perimeter Dunwoody Campus, while I was in high school during my senior year.
2001 -2002 I worked and volunteered at a day care.
2001 – 2002 Went to Kingsley Elementary to work with students two days of the week, creating hands onactivities.
Honors and Achievements: 2007 - presented PTLS thematic Unit of Hands on Lessons at National Conference for Social Studies Teachers in Athens, Ga. at UGA campus.
