Sep 2009 – April 2010 University of Dundee Dundee
Diploma in Legal Practice. As part of this course I have had the opportunity to participate in a mock criminal trial at Dundee Sheriff Court. I was the defence agent in this trial. In this trial I was competing against a fellow diploma colleague in front of a real sheriff. This opportunity gave me a chance to display my advocacy skills and to utilise knowledge gained from classes to good effect. The decision went in my favour.
Sep 2006 – June 2008 University of Strathclyde Glasgow
LLB Law Degree (Accelerated Programme). An intensive full time law degree involving the study of Criminal Law, Commercial Law, EC Law, Property and Domestic Law. A very challenging and intellectually stimulating course which has heavily expanded my knowledge of the legal system.

Achievements
Successfully completed an intensive Law degree whilst at the same time adequately managed and ran a charitable organisation for the Asian community living within Kilmarnock.
Effectively taught English to foreign students who had very limited English speaking ability.

Successfully completed a number of group projects in my BA Degree, which has helped me develop my interpersonal skills.

At present, I am working in an English language school in Yinchuan, China. I am teaching English to children aged 5 to 15 years of age.
Aug 2006 – August 2010 Nightingale House Admin Officer
I worked at the above organisation which is a nursing home for the elderly. My role involved performing administrative duties such as checking all office records ensuring that they are up to date, dealing with suppliers of consumable goods, and attending to financial matters such as timely payments to suppliers, etc. This role has further honed my managerial ability as it involves delegating tasks to other members of staff.
Aug 2004 – Aug 2006 Strathclyde Police Police Constable
Worked as a Police Constable within the town of Saltcoats in Ayrshire. This role gave me a good understanding of criminal law as well as knowledge of how the criminal courts operate as I had given evidence in court on a number of occasions.
Jan 2004 – July 2004 Bowhouse HMP Kilmarnock Clerk
As an employee of Bowhouse prison I performed administrative and clerical duties within the busy reception area. This role helped me to improve my oral skills as well as assertiveness as it often involved confrontational situations.
Sep 2002 – July 2003 John Wheatley College Easterhouse Lecturer
Taught various subjects such as; Business Admin, Information and Communications Technology, and ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) to students within John Wheatley College.

Worked for English Language Schools International in Taiwan in the capacity of Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. This role involved teaching children from the ages of 5 years old as well as adults. This role taught me how to adjust my communication methods to suit various age and ethnic groups whilst in contact with them.

Social Skills
I enjoy cycling and learning Tai chi. I participate in Tai chi classes on a regular basis. Tai chi helps me to stay fit and focused throughout my life and it also gives me the opportunity to socialise and make new friends.
