Personal

I was recently working for Merseyside Police Force. During my employment with Merseyside Police I had been promoted from Operator to Decision Maker and I was considered a valuable member of the team. I am outgoing and enthusiastic and work well within a team environment. I work well under pressure, I am punctual, reliable and I have a good sense of humour. I have worked in many roles and environments and I believe this has given me the ability to think on my feet and cope well whilst facing new challenges.

Employment

Merseyside Police [2008-2011]

As a Decision Maker employed within the Information Access Department it was my duty to check applicants’ details against the Police National Computer. I liaised with other police forces nationwide in order to make sure the correct decision was made concerning applications from sources outside of Merseyside Police jurisdiction. I also handled calls from applicants that involved sensitive information. In my role, I had to adhere to the Quality Assurance Framework, which ensured that people applying for job roles are safe to work in environments that involve vulnerable adults and children. I had to work to strict daily targets and deadlines whilst also maintaining exceptional levels of detail at all times. I had a position of trust and responsibility to the point where my decisions could affect the lives of those who obtain the roles and those they will be working with.

Lawrence Community & International School [2008-2011]

During my time here I was involved in the toddler group on Saturday mornings for 3 hours at a time. I was aided by 2 other assistants as the group was large and required a lot of attention. I tried to make the learning fun, imaginative and accessible to all the children as it was a multicultural and multilingual group. I would tend to stick to a routine of stretching exercises first thing followed by a letters game as I found that the children responded well to structure. I also used arts and crafts as a fun way to teach the basics of art and English.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy keeping fit and I play football and golf several times a week. I also enjoy reading and have an avid interest in current affairs. I have travelled extensively through Europe, Asia and Australia and I greatly enjoyed learning about foreign cultures and lifestyles.
