I am basically a writer by trade. Many of my years have been filled as a free lance writer for Hawaii publications. I also have edited the Waikiki News, an on-line newspaper since 2005 and a print publication before that for 10 years. I won the John Thornton award for journalism reporting related to Hawaii Transportation. I am also an experienced public speaker. I have traveled extensively and sailed across the Pacific, Atlantic and the northern tip of Australia. I have visited Ping’an, Yangshuo, Guilin, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Zhongshan, Taipei, Darwin, Sydney, Paris, London, Canary Islands, Caribbean Islands, Phuket, Bangkok, Cabo San Lucas, Hawaii island, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec and about 41 states. I have lived on a boat on Oahu and in Hanalei-Kauai, Ketchum-Idaho and Camden-Maine. I have one novel published on Kindle at Amazon.com and have one unpublished novel.

One of my primary interests is teaching. My mother was a teacher and principal at University Lab School. I have taught at Farrington Adult Community School since 2003. I teach ABE level 4-6, mathematics and citizenship. I can speak elementary Mandarin. 我中文会说一点。My native language is English.

I don’t drink and don’t smoke. I am single.

I am also a singer songwriter. I have performed mainly in small venues in Hawaii and am not stage shy. My songs are generally Hawaii themed, many are Blues based, and my favorite is called “Everyday is Sunday.”
