Roles and Responsibilities
Tooling design reviews; Outsourcing of new tooling projects; Visiting new tooling suppliers; Outsourcing of spare parts and prototype tooling; Tooling project control; Inspection reports; CPK; PPAP; X Bar Charts and GD&T. Joined in technical review meetings with customers and staff to discuss any technical issue’s that anyone might have; so everyone would have a better understanding of what our customer wants. Two times a week I held classes in the evening to teach GD&T and American Tooling Design Standards.
During the last two and half years our company was involved with working Exerion Technology Holdings in the Netherlands and Microgen Engine Corporation in the UK; in developing and supplying Stirling Engines for the next generation in home heating systems and a range of applications. I was involved with the tooling team to help source components from prototyping in Japan to full production in China for the Stirling Engine. We frequently visited suppliers in Niigata Japan for technical discussion and new project kick off. Most of our components were stampings which included deep draw, stamping parts; aluminum die casting; machining parts; plastic injection mold parts; wiring assemblies; magnetic assemblies.
