My name is Alex Huo and this letter is a brief introduction of myself and my interest in teaching English in China as a foreign English language teacher.

I’m from Toronto, a vibrant city of mixed cultures. I graduated from University of Toronto with a Bsc degree in Psychology. I’ve acquired 100 hour TESOL certificate through Oxford Seminar. I’ve tutored students of all ages, language level and backgrounds, varying from middle school students to professional doctors.

I am Canadian, of Chinese ethnic background; I have lived in Toronto for 21 years. I was born in Guangzhou and immigrated to Canada when I was 8 years old. I went through schooling in Toronto, Ontario from grade 3 all through university, thus; I speak perfect fluent English. I grew up with Canada’s well know multi-cultural influences, so be assured I understand thoroughly the culture and life style of my home land. As we can agree, learning a language definitely extends to cultural influences.

In Toronto, I’m an Ontario licensed Insurance Broker for my local community. In 2009, I was promoted by world insurance as regional manager to overlook and direct all office activities.
I maintained a second job as well, as a teacher at an exceptionally well organized private day care center.

Although my professional life was quite balanced, my urge to travel and expand my experiences has never ceased. The recent economic crisis has caused me to lose huge margin of my insurance clients, along with heavy taxing that the Canadian Government imposes, it only made sense for me to follow my dreams and travel to China; the world’s growing super power.

With my experience that I’ve acquired through my professions, I feel that I will be able to contribute to the students as an English teacher and fuel their interest in learning English.
