As you will see, I have more than 18 years relevant, teaching/ marketing and business development experience gained throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to my teaching career, I worked successfully as a marketing/business development manager and training consultant in Asia.

In my most recent posting, I have also gained invaluable experience in curriculum development, test preparation and moderation at one of the world's English training corporations.

Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a strong reputation for bonding with my students and creating a harmonious team spirit with my co -workers.

Professional Experience

Present position since 01/09/08 Teaching IELTS preparation to RSAF Officers in Taif Saudi Arabia at The King Fahad Air Base. Following SDT's in house 'Target 4.5 to IELTS' course material. Weekly and monthly report writing.

01/01/08-31/08/08 Bell Libya Working with Awardbrand Bells Libyan partner teaching Corporate students 25 contact hours a week; utilizing the Cutting Edge course book.

01/01/07 to 31/12/07 I taught Management and Economics at Qatar Petroleum HQ in Doha. Daily duties include researching the needs of junior managers work requirements, developing material. The material is then piloted and adapted as an ongoing process. Preparation of technical testing which is then moderated. The teaching material includes the latest inter-active multi- media. Special emphasis is placed on analysis of graphs and predictions of future trends.

My regular duties also include coaching advanced students in Tofel, Toiec and SAT ratings helping them to prepare for study at top universities in UK and USA.

01/2006 to 12/2006 Sung Ri Elementary School Incheon South Korea.

Teaching all aspects of pre- intermediate level English.

09/ 2005 to 01/ 2006 ELS Oman I taught 40 adult classes per week using the New Interchange series of books and specialized corporate material. Students were from the university, the police, the military and leading banks. Economics of Finance and Banking was a key feature.

2003 to 09/ 2005 KFUPM University Saudi Arabia I taught 20 undergraduate classes per week in Economics for the Global Oil Industry. Technical Writing, Debating Skills, Advanced Grammar and Listening.

2002 to 2003 YMCA Language School Taiwan :- Teaching 25 hours a week English conversation, Grammar, Business Writing. (75% Adult classes/ 25 % High School).

2001to 2002 Dawson Language Institute Taiwan Teaching 20 hours a weeks all age groups and levels the key English Language skills.

1990 to 1994 Marketing/ Operations Manager Saudi Arabia Arabian Hala (LLC). Responsible for a marketing budget of 5 Million us $, Reporting to the Marketing Director. I managed the marketing functions of 5 divisions ( 1 division being AVIS Rent a Car) responsible for 1500 employees' training and development. Interaction with advertising and market research agencies. Preparation of annual marketing plans and budgets.

August 1983-August 1986 I worked my way around the world; working in hotels, restaurants, bars, youth hostels, camp sites, ski resorts and on cruise liners. The purposes were to save money in preparation for university, learn about others languages and cultures and meet interesting people.

Language Skills

Fluent in English and French.
Semi- Fluent in Arabic, Spanish and Mandarin.
Basic- Korean, Thai and Japanese.

Computer Skills

Proficient in all types of office based packages, for word processing, spread-sheets, accounting, modelling, analysis, desk top publishing and internet applications. I have also taught IT and Computer Skills in Saudi Arabia and Oman

Hobbies and Interests

Sports:- Scuba-diving, tennis, cycling, beach volley ball.
Pastimes: Mountain hiking, photography, Asian cookery.
